School Supplies Drive – Old
Global Citizen, in partnership with the School District of Philadelphia, the Philadelphia Inquirer, WURD Radio, the African American Museum in Philadelphia, High Point Café and iHeart Media, are partnering in a school supplies drive to benefit underserved Philadelphia public school students.
Suggested items for donations include: No.2 pencils, ballpoint pens, copy paper, construction paper, colored paper, calculators, protractors, dry erasers, scotch tape, masking tape, crayons, magic markers, highlighters, rulers, children’s scissors, binders, bottles of glue, glue sticks, tissues, hand sanitizer, etc.
The donations will be retrieved from each drop-off location on Wednesday, September 4 by a Philadelphia Inquirer truck and delivered to the Philip Kearny School.
A sorting project will be held on Friday, September 6, where project partners will present the donated supplies to the students, principal, and representatives from the School District of Philadelphia.
As part of this year’s drive, participants can elect to contribute via RightGift, an online platform that lets you purchase items to be sent directly to the Philip Kearny School.
